We are so excited to share that we have landed in Guatemala to perform vision saving surgeries. This past April we visited with support from the Indian Embassy of Guatemala to screen and diagnose patients with vision impairments. We want to thank everyone that helped fund this year’s trip. Our work could not continue with out the support of our friends. We also want to thank friend, volunteer and supporter Indrajit Saluja editor of Indian Panorama who has spearheaded this entire trip. We are so grateful for your dedication to the foundation.
This year we want to focus our fundraising efforts for Global Eye Care. We have major plans not only for Guatemala but also Ghana, a project we have been funding for 6 years now. Stay tuned
2022-2023 Impact Report
In recent news we’ve just finished our final report. Over the past 15 months we have screened 64,261 out patients and treated 6,501. A total 68% of surgeries were done completely free of charge thanks to your support.
We also screened and treated 6,597 babies for ROP (Retinopathy of Prematurity) a blinding disease. We were also touched by the heartwarming story of twins in Kenya who regained their sight from bilateral cataracts, thanks to your generosity and VK’s personal commitment.
Recent Travels
In June Dr VK Raju was honored by First Lady Cherie Blair at a glittering function at the House Of Lords commemorating the UN International Widows Day. He also had the pleasure of meeting Lord Raj Loomba who visited Goutami Eye Institute in October. The visit was a success and Lord Loomba was impressed with the facility.
In October VK met with several Rotary clubs in Delhi including District Governor Mahesh. Together we will be embarking on a major screening and treatment project for Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP) starting in Delhi and progressing nationwide.
The path to perfection is a moving target, and we are deeply grateful for your unwavering friendship and commitment to our cause. As we approach this giving season, we ask you to consider a donation to our Global Eye Care project, a vital step toward a world where childhood blindness is a thing of the past.
Together, we’re painting a brighter future for those in need. Thank you for being a part of this incredible journey!
